6 Days - A Collage

I can't tell you about the paperwork I'm doing but I can show you this.

6 Days

To Do:

  • List of photos (this is not fun at all!)
  • Make flower girl's pomander
  • Print Programs (typed and ready for graphic design)
  • Lay out menus (print as soon as finalized)
  • Make the bar menu pretty and print it
  • Decorate the garters - just tie a ribbon on.  NO big deal.
  • Write vows
  • Assemble tip cash in envelopes
  • Add prompts to guest book (must be done while calm, for good handwriting)
  • Finish packing up centerpieces (so close!  just waiting on some of Kinnon's)
  • Glue bases onto cake plates (Sunday probably - they will be difficult to store when assembled)
  • Cut wrapping paper into 12 circles, 24" each to go under centerpieces
  • drop off fake lilies-of-the-valley at southside central market
  • Pay folks (strings, DJ, caterer)
  • Make a hair doodad since stuff in stores is disappointing
Tasks to assign:
  • errand person for the day of the wedding
  • Someone to pick up the decor after the wedding or the next day

  • Nothing!  NO MORE!  I am DONE shopping for this wedding!!!

11 Days

List deleted, here are some photos.  :)

These are my rehearsal shoes.  I am immensely proud of them.  I went into DSW to look for plain black non-patent leather sandals and then I saw these........

Finally got some paper airplanes done in between chitchat with Kinnon and setting up my new computer.  I like mine better than what I saw online!  Oh yes, and my venus fly trap and cactus for the FF7 table.^^

Our living room.  Still have more to pack.

Photo Update

...because it's more interesting than reading about my panicking.^^  Which I am doing less of now, by the way.

Without further ado...

Thank you, picstitch (& Andrea) for the fun collage effect.
Top to bottom:  gardening, cooking, travel.  Right:  just all the glass stuff.

"Stuff to hang from that one gnarly tree" and I am SO happy to say Danny knew exactly what tree I was talking about from the start!  It's a 30 year old pittosporum, for the record.

Components of cake plates.  I'm avoiding assembling them for as long as I can because they will take up quite a bit of space.  They look way better than I expected!

Treasure chest of favors, Suitcase of TOJ packets, basket for programs, and a lantern.

Pen box and guest book.  Kinnon and I didn't like anything we saw at craft stores, but Barnes&Noble has a ton of nice leather bound journals.  I plan to add writing prompts* every few pages.

FINALLY found good earrings!  I am SO excited for this set!

*Writing prompts.  I don't mean tell me what you did last summer or whatever, just stuff that I've seen other people add to their guests books.

Want to get my hands on that GLUE GUN

It will never cease to amaze me which people in my life are so very excited about the wedding.^^

The coordinator at Hummingbird House has left the company, and the owner will take over coordinator duties.  Minor freak out, followed by relief.  He is the actual person we booked with, after all.

Still waiting to hear back from oh... 4 different hair salons/stylists.  I have to keep reminding myself that they're probably closed on Mondays.

I am having a hell of a time concentrating at work because I have wedding things I feel like if I could just DO them and get them done my head would clear, but you know...  the robots pay my bills and I must obey them.

...or am I?

I have reached a point where I want to forsake all other activities just to get all the wedding stuff DONE.

Monday, January 16, 2012

Note:  made decision to use my fancy wrapping paper as center/accent "linens" since I'm having trouble finding any actual linens I like/am willing to afford.  Could use a roll of teal/silver though.

At first we thought we wanted to get guests to mingle by only providing table seating for 100 people.

Then I thought for a minute, what if I were a guest who wanted to sit but all tables were full?

So we're going to add a few more tables.  so I need to think up themes for said tables...

  • Kid/Art table with a vinyl tablecloth and either paper and crayons, OR that spiffy crayola paper with markers that only color on that paper, OR ???  We have no idea how many kids there will be, but I know there will be a few.
  • Our Favorite Bits and Bobs:  mango wood bowl with ceramic "campfire, rawhide candelabra, and whatever else we feel safe setting out
  • Board Games a few decks of cards, dominos
  • Fill globe vase with video game controllers and surround with a wreath of cables
  • Sanrio Table:  Hello Kitty, Kerroppi, Badtz Maru Etc

More to come...

Poms and Pretties

These are WAY harder than the first one for some reason...  I'm an hour into the gluing and my back is KILLING ME.
But the colors are totally mesmerizing to me.  SO pretty.  Photo doesn't do it justice.

And my necklace and bracelet.  I bought earrings that may or may not match.  I'll find out Monday or Tuesday.  They have interchangeable pearls so even if they don't work for this, they're still really pretty.

That's enough for tonight.

Bridal Jewels

I got a bracelet and necklace that match and totally mesmerize me with the sparkly but am having second thoughts.

Need to check Charming Charlie's for earrings.

Still haven't seen a garter for sale anywhere.  I fear I should look into making one since my legs are decidedly not "average" sized anyway.  ARGH the things I do for kinnon.

Still need shawls.

I feel like I can't buy anything from Etsy because that would be admitting defeat but holy hell I am getting close to it.........

I Need To Stay Away From OBB

...because OMG the ideas!

Flying paper airplanes instead of bubbles?!  OMG.

Someone had their baker make a gum paste SERENITY for the groom's cake.

"From a distance, our wedding looked like most small, southern weddings. There was a bride in a white dress and bridesmaids in matching dresses and men in tuxedos. Up close, the traditional wedding started to get fuzzy." from someone else?  THAT'S WHAT WE WANT!

Alas I'm past the point of adding new things.  Honestly I need to prioritize and see what I can cut out at this point.
